Meet Owner and Practitioner Jen Olson
Hello, I’m Jen, Owner and Sound Therapist at Resonance Sound Healing. I’m happy you’re here exploring our site and learning more about me and my work. Thank you!
I discovered sound healing during a women’s retreat over 10 years ago. I’d heard a bit about it and thought the retreat was the perfect time to try it out. As I lay on the massage table with Himalayan bowls being played around me, I felt like I was floating in space. Each sound sending waves of color out into the universe. Afterward I felt euphoric, totally calm but also like I could do ANYTHING. During that session, with no fanfare whatsoever, a switch was flipped inside me: “you’re going to do this now” was the message.
It took a couple of years, researching and getting my ego and fears out of the way. Finally, I took my first training with the Vibrational Sound Association where I became a licensed sound therapy practitioner offering sound massage. I opened my studio in its first location downtown in May 2020 and I’ve been moving forward with sound ever since.
In 2025 I completed a 380 hour professional training with Heaven of Sound (don’t let the name fool you, Dr Rainer Michaelis is all about the science!) and earned my certification as a Sound Therapist. I knew my initial offerings were beneficial to my clients-I saw their experiences for myself, but I also knew sound could be more than what I was practicing at the time. Now, I’m honored to be offering sound as a truly therapeutic way to help my clients reach their goals.
With over 500 hours of training in the use of sound as a healing modality and nearly 5 years in professional practice, I’m ready to help you meet your holistic wellness goals with the transformational support of sound. I specialize in the use of Himalayan Singing Bowls. I use ethically sourced bowls, hand made in India and certified to exacting standards for the frequency of their fundamental tone so that they can be utilized with purpose and intention.
Feel free to ask if you’d like to know more about my certifications, instruments, or anything about sound and sound healing. I encourage (and teach) everyone to be an informed consumer of sound healing and other wellness services. I’m passionate about helping people with sound and I love to talk with people about it!
There are other things in life too. It can’t ALL be sound. I also enjoy traveling, knitting, reading, and any time I can spend in the woods. I think my favorite sound in the whole world is the sound of the wind in the trees.
Now that you know more about me, I hope you will feel most welcome to join me in the studio or to say hello if you see me at local events.
Until then wishing you peace and contentment,
Jen
